Just fill up the included 1-gallon plastic tank, hang it above your work surface, install the included demineralizer cartridge into the water line to eliminate the need for distilled water, and you're all set! IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FIRST TIME USERS...
Unlike ordinary household steam irons, Industrial Gravity Feed Steam Irons (IGFSI) generate a whole lot of steam very quickly. When operating your iron, it's important that you don't hold the steam button down for an extended length; just a few seconds is all you need for a full burst of thick steam. Holding the button too long can cause the iron to build up way too much steam, which will result in sputtering, spitting, and often profuse leaking from under the sole plate. If you notice the iron start to sputter, spit, or leak, stop ironing, dry the iron thoroughly, then resume, but this time use the steam button more sparingly.
